We have an exciting opportunity for talented Project Manager to join our team and play a key role in driving Energyline's continued success, whilst helping to deliver critical infrastructure that supports the UK's journey towards net zero.

About Energyline:



Energyline Ltd is a fast-growing independent multi-disciplinary engineering, planning and environmental consultancy specialising in the design and consenting of power system projects including overhead lines and underground cables. Across the company we offer design solutions, planning and environmental consultancy expertise as well as site-based services including overhead line surveys, design studies relating to overhead lines and underground cable schemes, condition inspections, site investigations and engineering/ environmental surveys.

Our business predominantly collaborates with the major network operators in the UK as well as key contractors as we aim to meet the demands of the accelerating pace of electricity infrastructure development to meet the targets of Net Zero.

The role:



The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing and delivering high-quality electricity network infrastructure projects on time, within scope, and within budget. Projects would span all Energyline's service areas (Design, Geotech, Cables, Site Services) or may be multi-disciplinary. The Project Manager plays a key role in driving business goals forward and meeting our client's requirements through effective project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities and duties



Project Planning & Delivery



Develop clear project initiation documents and project execution plans, including timelines, milestones, resource plans, budgets, and risk assessments. Plan, control, and manage the end-to-end delivery of projects within agreed cost, schedule, safety, and quality parameters. Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure project deliverables meet required standards. Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including plans, reports, risk logs, and meeting records. Support and contribute to tender processes.

Commercial, Budget & Resource Management



Understand and manage commercial terms, conditions, and obligations associated with each project. Manage project budgets, monitor financial performance, and report variances promptly. Work with leadership to ensure projects are appropriately resourced and that resources are used efficiently. Identify and manage commercial and business risks to ensure project and business targets are met.

Safety, Quality & Compliance



Demonstrate visible leadership in promoting a Zero Harm culture and continuous improvement in SHEQ practices. Conduct safety tours, ensure effective monitoring schedules, and drive timely incident investigation and closure. Ensure compliance with all business policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.

Stakeholder & Client Management



Act as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery. Proactively manage client expectations, communicate clearly, and support effective decision-making. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships across the business and with external stakeholders. Promote and communicate the value the organisation brings to the client.

Risk & Issue Management



Identify, assess, and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies and maintaining accurate risk and issue logs. Escalate risks and critical issues to senior leadership when required. Support project teams in resolving issues promptly to avoid project impacts.

Leadership & Team Development



Provide clear, visible leadership and foster a high-performance, one-team culture. Develop, motivate, and support project team members through positive communication, active listening, and continuous encouragement. Identify and nurture talent to support future organisational needs.

Continuous Improvement & Business Development



Implement and champion project management best practices, improving processes, templates, and tools. Capture client feedback and lead lessons-learned reviews to support organisational improvement. Build client relationships that support ongoing business development and future opportunities.

Health and Safety responsibilities



The post holder is responsible for working in line with all relevant health and safety policies, procedures, and legislation. They must act safely at all times, attend required training, and report any accidents, near misses, or hazards using the appropriate channels.

Integrated Management Systems (IMS)



The post holder must follow all relevant IMS policies, procedures, and guidance. They should support audits as well as report non-conformances. They are expected to contribute to continuous improvement and seek feedback where appropriate. IMS document owners are responsible for ensuring their documentation is regularly reviewed and updated in line with document control procedures.

Measures of performance



Delivery Against Programme -

Consistent achievement of project milestones and overall delivery to agreed timescales.

Budget Management -

Effective forecasting and control of project costs, with minimal variance from the approved budget.

Quality of Deliverables -

Standard of outputs delivered, including the level of rework required and alignment with client and contractual requirements.

Safety and Compliance Performance -

Adherence to safety requirements, audit outcomes, and timely completion of any necessary corrective actions.

Client Satisfaction and Relationship Management -

Quality of client feedback, strength of working relationships, and reduction of avoidable escalations.

Stakeholder Communication -

Clarity, accuracy, and timeliness of communication with all key internal and external stakeholders.

Risk and Issue Management -

Ability to identify, assess, and manage risks and issues to prevent negative impacts on project delivery.

Resource Utilisation and Team Leadership -

Effective allocation and use of project resources, alongside strong leadership and support for the project team.

Governance and Documentation Standards -

Maintenance of accurate project documentation and compliance with agreed processes and governance requirements.

Continuous Improvement and Business Contribution -

Implementation of lessons learned, support for process improvements, and contribution to wider business development activities.

Other responsibilities



The post holder must carry out their responsibilities with due regard to Energy line's Management system and the Company's policies and procedures as detailed in the Contract of Employment. The post holder must respect the confidentiality of data stored electronically and by other means in line with the Data Protection Act.

Skills and experience required:



Education and Qualifications:



Evidence of ongoing professional development - Essential Project management certification (PRINCE2, Agile etc) - Desirable Safety-related training appropriate to the Project environnent (e.g site safety training). - Desirable Degree level qualification in engineering, project management, business or a related field. - Desirable Experience of working within the utilities sector (power distribution is preferable) - Desirable

Knowledge and Experience



Experience in the Electrical Transmission and Distribution sector - Essential Experience of managing high-value end-to-end projects - Essential Experience working with project management software - Essential Track record of delivering high quality projects on time, within scope and on budget - Essential Experiencing managing budgets, risk registers and stakeholder communications - Essential Experience of working with CMap - Desirable Experience of working with remote teams - Desirable Ability to facilitate stakeholder meetings and reach positive outcomes - Desirable Awareness of relevant safety, compliance and governance standards - Desirable
The ideal candidate will have:

Strong project management skills, with experience delivering complex, high-value projects on time and within budget. Proficient in budget management, risk assessment, and stakeholder communication. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail. Confident juggling multiple priorities and performing under pressure. Skilled in using project management software. Effective at facilitating meetings and navigating stakeholder dynamics. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Analytical problem-solver with a proactive, reliable, and adaptable approach. Demonstrates professional integrity, confidentiality, and a collaborative mindset. Experience working with remote teams and within the utilities sector (desirable). Holds relevant project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile) and a degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
The role is based in Copgrove, North Yorkshire.

Hours :

Full time (37.5 hours a week).
