Who are we?


Magdrive is developing the next generation of spacecraft propulsion. Our revolutionary thruster technology delivers unmatched thrust and efficiency, unlocking new capabilities for spacecraft and enabling entirely new industries in satellite servicing, in-space manufacturing , and interplanetary transport . We are now seeking a Project Manager to take ownership of critical internal and external grant-based reporting and evidence collection for major UK space initiatives. This role involves close collaboration with technical teams, financial controllers, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest standard. You will also play a key role in account management for UK Space Agency and European Space Agency clients, while supporting bid development by identifying funding opportunities, coordinating project planning, and assisting with project budgeting. This is a highly visible role, engaging with both technical and governmental stakeholders across the UK space sector. Magdrive is based at the Harwell Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire. This role will require in-person attendance for project meetings, but you'll also have the flexibility to work remotely or use desk space within Magdrive's lab.

What you will be doing?



Providing project support to technical managers on grant projects and reporting Supporting technical managers and engineers with project updates and deliverables Leading on tracking and delivering project documents and milestones Completing time sheeting and evidence collection for quarterly grant claims Engaging externally with government and commercial stakeholders Liaising with consortium partners to ensure effective and timely project delivery Collaborating with senior team members on UKSA and ESA account management Building relationships with government stakeholders (e.g. DSIT, MPs, MOD) Supporting the Grants & Bid Manager with funding opportunities and bid development Identifying and qualifying UKSA, ESA, EU and similar funding opportunities Leading project planning and bid reviews

What we are looking for?



Essential

Proven experience in R&D management with successful delivery of UKSA or similar projects valued at 1M+ 3+ years of experience in the UK space sector or a high-tech engineering/science environment Experience working in cross-functional engineering and operations teams, and with external consortium partners

Desirable

APM Project Management Qualification (APM-P) or similar Understanding of budgeting and compliance requirements for (aero)space hardware projects Experience working with the UK Space Agency and/or strong relationships at programme lead level Relevant academic qualification (e.g. BEng or BSc in a space-related domain) Ability to represent Magdrive at industry and government networking events Startup or SME experience
