Job Summary


AFML is seeking a proactive and experienced

Project Manager

with a solid background in commercial internal refurbishment and fit-out works, with an emphasis on

passive fire protection

, including

fire stopping

and

fire doors

. This role will be based in the

Oxford area

and will involve overseeing a variety of projects across commercial and operational environments.

The ideal candidate will have a practical understanding of construction processes within live environments, be confident managing multiple workstreams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. A strong commercial awareness and the ability to

price and manage works from enquiry through to completion

will be essential.

Responsibilities



Plan, manage, and deliver a range of internal refurbishment and passive fire protection projects from inception to completion. Coordinate site activities, materials, and labour to ensure smooth project delivery. Lead and motivate site teams, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards and company procedures. Liaise closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to maintain strong working relationships and clear communication throughout. Monitor progress against programme, quality, and budget targets. Prepare and maintain accurate project records, reports, and handover documentation. Price works accurately and competitively, supporting the tendering and estimating process when required. Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in delivery and efficiency

Key Requirements:



Proven experience managing commercial internal refurbishment and/or fit-out projects, ideally with exposure to fire door and fire stopping installations. Strong technical knowledge of construction and finishing trades. Demonstrable experience in pricing, cost control, and budget management. Relevant site management and health & safety qualifications (e.g. SMSTS, IOSH, or equivalent). Excellent organisational and leadership skills with a hands-on approach. Strong communication and client-facing skills. Ability to oversee multiple projects and teams concurrently. Full UK driving licence.
