Project Manager, TRANSECTS Project


Grade and Salary:

Grade 6, 31,236 : 36,636 per annum (pro-rata)


FTE and working pattern:

0.4FTE, 14hrs per week


Holiday Entitlement:

33 days annual leave plus 9 buildings closed days (and Christmas Eve when it falls on a weekday) (pro-rata)


Purpose of Role



To provide high-level administrative and project management support to the Principal Investigator (PI) of theaEUR TRANSECTS research project ( www.transects.org.uk ). The role will ensure the smooth operation of project activities, including coordinating meetings, tracking financial progress, reporting, and engaging stakeholders.


Key Duties & Responsibilities



Project Coordination

Support scheduling and logistics for project meetings, workshops, and fieldwork. Maintain project timelines and assist in tracking deliverables and milestones. Liaise with project partners and collaborators to ensure effective communication.
Administrative Support

Manage correspondence, documentation, and filing systems. Assist with procurement, travel arrangements, and expense claims. Prepare agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions for meetings.
Financial and Reporting

Monitor project budgets and assist with financial and emissions reporting. Support the preparation of funder reports and documentation. Coordinate with finance and research offices as needed.
Communications and Outreach

Maintain the project website and social media presence. Assist in the preparation of newsletters, reports, and promotional materials. Support organization of public engagement events and dissemination activities.

Essential & Desirable Criteria



Essential


Educated to at least SCQF level 9-10 or similar or equivalent practical experience in the workplace Experience in project management Competent in the use of relevant IT packages Analytical problem-solving skills Well-developed interpersonal skills Demonstrable excellent customer service Demonstrable ability to work quickly, flexibly and accurately in a dynamic, changing and pressured environment Demonstrable professional and proactive approach Desirable


Familiarity with research project management and funding processes Experience with website content management systems (e.g. WordPress) Interest in environmental or marine research
