We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Project Manager to join our growing and talented projects team.

Please note: to be considered for this position, you

must have experience in project management within the

construction industry.

Purpose of role:



Overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion. Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs. Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.

Other requirements commensurate with the role:

Quality standards, Sub-contractor management, Collating Variations to submit with monthly valuations, Financial control of the project, Issuing O&M information.

Main Duties



Promote a positive health and safety culture by creating interest and enthusiasm for health and safety in all activities and set a good example (including wearing appropriate protective clothing and equipment). Be aware of appropriate statutory health and safety requirements affecting the operations of the company. Support with bid tenders and applications for works and associated frameworks. Works with key stakeholders to understand the business needs, and creates a project management plan that aligns with the company's strategic objectives Plan and implement projects from conception to completion, including: supporting the pricing and procurement exercise and the commercial team in their activities. Track, align, adapt and continuously manage the project performance against deliverables, client expectations and project plan and provide solutions to challenges/problems. Define project scope(s), goals and deliverables, and subsequent resources and tasks and assign these efficiently as required by the project. Confirming building plans with Surveyors, Architects, and Engineers Support in the recruitment/ sourcing of labour and worker resource. Purchasing or hiring building equipment and materials Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors Authorise and manage purchase orders associated with their assigned projects, and in conjunction with Project Coordinators and the Head of Projects. To liaise directly with the clients of the project from its conception, including ongoing meetings and progress/performance reports. Own, prepare and submit Work Package Plans (WPP), Construction Phase Plans, Programmes of Works, and Task Briefings and lead on their adaptations and evolution. Managing the project budget (as appropriate) and submitting payment applications throughout the project enabling the invoicing of projects. Working with the Head of projects and the Managing Director on facilitating the integration of their assigned project with the business's overarching project schedule. Carrying out frequent site visits and liaising with the client, staff, and subcontractors Monitoring the overall progress of the project, highlighting any issues and how to fix them. Managing project risks including the development of contingency plans Identifying and obtaining support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the project Ensure compliance with the Company policies and procedures and reprimand any employees for failure to satisfactorily discharge their responsibilities for health and safety. Ensure site manager is carrying out duties such as on-site audits and inductions.

Pre-requisite Key Skills:



Understanding construction processes and guidelines for effective planning and site management Proficiency in mathematics for determining building material quantities and costs and operating site within budget. Leadership skills for motivating workers and maintaining positive and safe work environments Organisational skills for ensuring multiple building projects are completed on time and on budget Great attention to detail for effective safety and construction work checks Problem-solving skills for devising solutions to site challenges, such as weather delaying construction/ supply chain issues Verbal communication skills for explaining projects to site supervisors and providing project reports to stakeholders

Qualifications and experience required to do this role:



Project management qualification (Degree/ PRINCE2/ NVQ Level 6 or above (able to achieve within 18 months)), Theoretical and practical project management knowledge Knowledge of techniques and tools At least

6 years

of experience as a project manager Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management Proficiency in project management software tools - for example Microsoft 365 and MS Project

Pay: 39,950.00-50,000.00 per year
