We're seeking an experienced Structures Project Manager to lead the planning, delivery, and management of structural maintenance and improvement schemes across the highways network. You'll oversee projects from concept design through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to budget while meeting client and stakeholder expectations. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of high-profile infrastructure projects that make a real difference to local communities.
Duties
Project Delivery & Leadership
o Manage end-to-end delivery of highways structures projects, from design and planning through to construction and handover.
o Lead project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery.
Health, Safety & Compliance
o Promote and enforce a culture of health, safety, and environmental best practice across all works.
o Carry out inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with legislation and company standards.
Client & Stakeholder Management
o Act as the key point of contact for Gloucestershire County Council and other stakeholders.
o Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and partners to ensure clear communication and successful collaboration.
Programme & Cost Control
o Develop project programmes, monitor progress, and manage risks to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
o Oversee cost bookings, valuations, and reporting in line with contract requirements.
Person Specification
A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience managing highways structures projects (bridges, retaining walls, culverts, or similar).
Strong leadership, organisational, and project management skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
A proactive, solution-focused mindset with strong commercial awareness.
Commitment to health, safety, and quality at every stage of project delivery.
