We seek to appoint a highly motivated, well-organised individual with excellent interpersonal and communications skills with experience in managing projects efficiently. The successful applicant will have a graduate or postgraduate degree and a keen interest in strengthening the national power and profile of the United Kingdom, as well as in foreign affairs, defence, international security and environmental security more generally.
The Project Manager will be an integral part of our organisation's team, working to help manage our existing research and parliamentary projects, as well as new projects as they emerge. It would be beneficial for the applicants to have a strong grasp of key concepts within British defence policy, as well as in-depth knowledge of at least one of the following areas: the AUKUS partnership, British space policy, or the strategic partnership between the United Kingdom and the United States.
Tasks:
Working closely with our directors in managing the Council's key research projects, including the research drumbeat and in organising high-level events.
Engaging with our Policy and Editorial Officer and research fellows to support the Council's research programmes and policy outreach with parliamentarians and government departments.
Engaging with our Events and Operations Coordinator to manage and deliver events.
Maintaining and cultivating relationships with relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment between the Council and our partners and strengthening our memberships programme.
Other relevant duties related to the role.
Experience:
Graduate (Classification of 2.1 or equivalent or above) and/or postgraduate degree, particularly in project management or strategic or defence studies, or a similar area of focus;
At least two years of experience in project management;
A keen interest in strengthening the national power and profile of the United Kingdom, as well as in foreign affairs, international security and environmental security more generally;
Exemplary project management and organisational skills;
Ability to build long-term and impactful relationships with stakeholders;
Excellent time management and interpersonal skills;
Advanced skills in Google Workstation, and other key IT applications
Social media skills;
Perfect command of English and attention to detail;
Team worker with a proactive inclination and positive attitude.

32,500 (gross)
