The role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to oversee a growing and complex portfolio of construction and design projects based in Oxford. With an exciting client pipeline, this role is critical to ensure efficient delivery, contract compliance, and operational scalability. A strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, PRINCE2 (or equivalent qualification), and a working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations is essential. This role also plays a vital part in mentoring junior staff and supporting the long-term growth of the project delivery function.

Responsibilities
Provide full lifecycle project management of design and construction projects within the Oxford portfolio.
Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements, including communication protocols, early warnings, compensation events, and change control.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, risk registers, programmes, budgets, and audit documentation.
Act as the primary point of accountability for project delivery, ensuring consistency, quality, and on-time completion.
Support the mentoring and development of existing project staff (e.g., Project Coordinator), enabling succession planning.
Ensure all activities adhere to relevant health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
Lead project and contract meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
Drive standardization in delivery practices across the Oxford programme.
Contribute to planning for operational expansion, including resourcing and scalability.
Requirements
Substantial experience in project management.
Proven experience managing projects under NEC contracts (NEC3 or NEC4).
Recognized project management qualification: PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ, or PMP.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior team members.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel).
High level of commercial awareness and contract administration proficiency.
Desirable but not essential
Working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM).
Experience standardizing processes across multiple projects or programmes.
Understanding of public sector project delivery or multi-client environments.
Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
