About the Role



Due to a growing workload,

Sam Gilpin Demolition Ltd

are seeking an

Experienced Project Manager

to join our team at the

Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth

, working as part of the

Major Infrastructure Project (MIP)

. You will be based within the MIP offices, collaborating closely with our on-site teams and client representatives.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and professional individual to oversee and manage a variety of complex projects in a high-security, high-stakes environment. Projects include asbestos and hazardous waste removal, demolition, and dismantling.

Key Responsibilities



Manage multiple projects from inception to completion within the Devonport Dockyard Work from the MIP offices, liaising daily with clients, internal teams, and subcontractors Coordinate with estimating, demolition, and environmental teams on-site Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines, ensuring contractual obligations are met Prepare and manage project documentation, reports, and costings Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and solution-focused environment

Requirements



Proven experience in

construction project management

Experience in

demolition

and

asbestos/environmental projects

is advantageous Strong understanding of

contracts, cost control, programming, and coordination

Excellent communication and negotiation skills at senior management level Calm, approachable, and professional under pressure Ability to work effectively within a team and independently Relevant qualifications in construction/project management are desirable Security clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance for work within the dockyard
