Hybrid - Expectation to work from our Cardiff office twice per week, with site visits as needed for operational delivery
Salary:
Up to 55,000 per annum (full-time)
Contract:
Permanent, full-time. We're open to flexible working patterns to support your work-life balance and personal commitments.
About Us
At Sero, we're helping create zero carbon homes and communities. Through innovative partnerships with social landlords, technical teams, and residents, we're working together to deliver sustainable, long-term retrofit solutions across the UK.
About the Role
We're looking for a proactive and experienced Project Manager to lead delivery of our energy efficiency and retrofit projects in partnership with social landlords.
You'll act as the key point of contact for our partners, managing relationships, coordinating input from across Sero teams, and overseeing projects from planning through to final delivery. You'll help ensure projects meet time, quality, and budget goals -- while also supporting continuous improvement across the business.
Although our roots are in retrofit, our work also connects with renewables, utilities, building services, digital innovation and zero-carbon design. You'll be joining a growing and collaborative team where your contributions will help shape how we deliver impactful, people-focused retrofit at scale.
How You'll Help
You'll lead projects that span energy services, housing, and sustainability. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing multiple retrofit projects from planning through to execution
Acting as the main point of contact for our social landlord partners
Coordinating input from internal Sero teams across technical, delivery, and product areas
Managing project meetings, communications, and relationship touchpoints
Monitoring budgets, forecasts and project spend -- and taking action when needed
Troubleshooting delivery challenges and proactively resolving issues
Ensuring compliance with retrofit standards and quality frameworks (e.g. PAS 2035)
Engaging with Sero's technical and energy teams to align projects with our net-zero mission
Helping to shape and improve internal project delivery processes
Documenting project progress and updating stakeholders
Flexibly supporting on-the-ground activity when required
What You'll Bring
This is a role for someone with strong project management skills and a good understanding of retrofit or energy services. You'll be confident coordinating across teams, balancing competing priorities, and keeping delivery on track.
You'll likely have:
Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously -- ideally in retrofit, energy, housing or sustainability
Technical understanding of retrofit, decarbonisation strategies and funding routes (e.g. SHDF, ECO, WHQS)
Budget management experience, including forecasting and adapting to delivery changes
Confidence working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
Familiarity with standards such as PAS 2035 and the role of quality assurance
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to spot risks and opportunities
Intermediate or above Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, charts, Power Query)
You'll thrive in this role if you:
Are confident leading multi-disciplinary teams
Build trust through empathy, clarity and consistent communication
Stay calm under pressure and adaptable when priorities shift
Take a pragmatic, problem-solving approach to delivery
Enjoy finding ways to improve how projects run
Work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Are passionate about sustainability and net-zero
Take ownership of your work while contributing to shared goals
