Overview



The Nuclear Manufacturing Group (NMG) was formed specifically to meet the needs of the nuclear energy sector and its supply chain. This is achieved by providing research and development skills, funding and technology to enhance the capabilities and competitiveness of the UK nuclear manufacturing industry. The group is assisted by technical resources across the AMRC including, but not limited to, design, additive manufacturing, castings and assembly. Sited on the Advanced manufacturing park (AMP) in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, UK, NMG has technical competencies focusing on large scale machining, welding and cladding and non-destructive testing.


As a Project Manager, you will be working within groups in the AMRC or across multiple groups. In this exciting opportunity this role will be based in the Nuclear Manufacturing Group n this exciting and is to cover a current staff member taking maternity leave . The role supports the delivery of projects and programmes that range in scale and duration. The AMRC are a Corporate Partner of the Association of Project Management (APM). Meaning we continuously train, support and encourage the Project Management team at the AMRC.


Main duties and responsibilities




Scoping, planning and delivery of a variety of projects and programmes. Ownership and support / preparation of project and programme budgets, in collaboration with Research Engineers to ensure they are not exceeded and spent on relevant project items. Detailed management, control and reporting throughout the project lifecycle for relevant individuals to be updated on project progress. Inputting, ordering and interrogating finance data in order to deliver projects and programmes to budget. Responsible for monthly invoicing and deeper financial review of projects and programmes, working directly with AMRC Finance team representatives. Management and support of Assistant Project Managers and Project Coordinators within your 'team of teams' including offering support/guidance where necessary. Makes presentations to customers and senior management on project updates, project cycle, and expected results. Support and participate in project teams to deliver projects in time and on budget. Present results to internal and external stakeholders at all levels in a professional and concise manner. Be responsible for short, medium and long-term projects and programmes in own area, or contribute to the planning of the group. Liaise with partners and suppliers when and where required to form good relationships.
