Role Overview


Due to continued growth and sustaining new and exciting projects, the position of a Project Quantity Surveyor has become available to join Lagan MEICA Ltd and work alongside our existing commercial and site teams.

What you'll do


The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:

Provide commercial links between Engineers, Project Managers and Site Teams. Collaboration with Project Managers, Subcontractors, Suppliers and Stakeholders. To ensure commercial security and control of contracts under tender and throughout the project including execution and delivery. External liaison with suppliers and customers regarding project progress and contractual issues. Conducting cost analysis and ensuring cost efficiency. Attendance at design team and progress meetings as and when required. On Site pre-measurements. Development of supply chain packages and procurement of specialist material. Subcontractor procurement including tender enquiries and placement of subcontract orders. Management of both Main Contract and Subcontracts. Recording, costing, and agreeing contract variations. Monthly internal cost/value reporting and budget forecasting. Cashflow forecasting. Preparing and agreeing monthly interim valuations and Final Accounts. Risk analysis and control. Dispute resolution and arbitration. Ensuring standards are being met and milestone progressing as projected. Support estimating process and budget control. Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations. Contribute to an inclusive and equal opportunity culture across the Company. To undertake any other reasonable duties as required.

What you'll bring



As a Project Quantity Surveyor your main skills and experience will include:

Essential:

BSc in Quantity Surveying (or other equivalent commercially related discipline); At least 3 years' experience working in a commercial role, preferably in a mechanical, electrical or water engineering industry; Experience with both pre and post contract Quantity Surveying; Good understanding and knowledge of Standards Form of Contract (for example NEC); IT Literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Microsoft Excel. Full driving license that permits driving in the UK and access to a vehicle for work travel
Desirable:

Achievement of, or be working towards, professional membership of an appropriate organisation (for example RICS/ICES);

- thoroughly understand the commercial and financial issues facing projects, identifying risks and mitigating these appropriately.
