We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Project Support Officer in our Estates & Facilities Department. Could you be who we are looking for?


About the team/Department you will be joining:


Located at our Police Headquarters, Bridgend.


The successful candidate will assist the Estates Capital Team, working with a small team of dedicated individuals, to undertake new build and refurbishment projects across the South Wales Police area.


About the role and your key responsibilities:


An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Project Support Officer to support Estates Capital Projects facilitating major refurbishment of our existing estate and the design and construction of new buildings which are operationally critical to the service South Wales Police provides.


The successful candidate will support a wide range of works including stakeholder engagement, facilitate contractor site visits and organise minor works projects as suitable.


The role can be challenging due to the wide range of duties undertaken, but is very rewarding upon completion of projects.


What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:


The successful candidate -



Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft applications. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills including negotiating and influencing skills. Must demonstrate the ability to research, collate, analyse and disseminate information Must be able to develop, monitor, implement systems and procedures and maintain quality standards. Must demonstrate construction site management and quality control skills. Must be able to demonstrate application / experience in some or all of the following areas: Capital Building Programme Policy and Procedures Project Support experience and Budget control. To demonstrate Health & Safety knowledge including, the Health & Safety at Work Act and the management of construction (Design and MGT) following best practise. Must demonstrate experience of undertaking audit/compliance checks of construction projects.

A current valid driving licence is essential to enable travel within the South Wales Police area and property portfolio


Please note the successful candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to the required level MV/SC
