About the Post:





Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), Barnsley Council's Enterprising Barnsley Team are looking to recruit two full time Project and Contract Officers to support the delivery of the Business Productivity project in Barnsley and across South Yorkshire. The role will include the monitoring of financial & management data, processing grant offers and grant claims, ensuring project activity is compliant with funders regulations and policies, and supporting South Yorkshire partners in the delivery of the Business Productivity project.


If you have experience of delivering public funded projects, have passion for project and partnership working whilst delivering the expectations of external funders, then we would welcome an application from you.





Your role in our journey





As Project and Contract Officer you will be supporting the Council's Enterprising Barnsley team to deliver the Business Productivity project across South Yorkshire. You will use your expertise and knowledge of UKSPF/public fund regulations and processes to work in close partnership with a range of public/private organisations to deliver successful and compliant projects.


What you'll need





This is a fixed term post up to the 31st March 2026, to join us, you'll need a relevant level 3 qualification and/or evidence in a related field and your commitment to continuous professional development. You will need to evidence that you have a track record of effectively delivering UKSPF/public funded projects, ideally business support related. Working in collaboration with multiple partners, being an effective communicator and a 'can do' attitude are attributes that we are seeking.

How are we funded?





The Business Productivity Project is delivered across South Yorkshire and is supported, and part funded by the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). The UK Shared Prosperity Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local businesses, and people and skills. The project brings together the four South Yorkshire Local Authorities and SYMCA, who work in collaboration to support businesses to identify and address their business productivity challenges.
