The Diocese of Dunkeld is seeking to appoint a Property Assistant to provide assistance to the Property Officer in the management and oversight of all church properties within the Diocese.
The role holder should preferably have property and Health & Safety related experience, although this is not essential.
Strong communication and organisational skills are required along with the ability to use own initiative in planning and performing work.

Main Purpose and Scope of Role
To assist in the oversight and management of the fabric of church properties throughout the Diocese.
Key Relationships
Property Officer
Members of the Diocesan Curia, especially the Chancellor, Property Officer, and Finance Administrator.
Parish Priests and parish fabric committees
Contractors and Consultants
Key Responsibilities
Parishes
Support the Property Officer to assist parishes with carrying out regular maintenance of all properties.
Support the Property Officer to ensure that parish buildings meeting insurance, compliance and other legal requirements, through conducting annual reports on compliance, arranging for training, and related tasks, together with the Health & Safety consultant.
Serve as a resource for Parish Priests and parish fabric committees.
Oversee updating of database and files on all properties.
Send reminders and provide assistance with parish inventories when priests are moved.
Leased Properties
Assist the Property Officer to oversee property agents for residential leased properties owned by the Diocese.
Other Property Work or Projects
Assisting in the response requests for property-related information.
Assisting in the organising and preparation of the agenda and supporting materials for Fabric and Planning meetings.
Assisting in the overseeing of property archives and respond to requests.
Qualifications/ Knowledge
Although not essential, a relevant qualification or knowledge of the property/building field and Health and Safety would be preferred.
Experience (preferred)
Experience in property management, repairs and improvement works.
Experience in project administration.
Experience in building work and Health & Safety.
Skills & Ability
Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
Good organisational skills with the ability to organise complex tasks.
Able to use Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
A proactive, practical approach with strong problem-solving skills.
Trustworthy and discrete with experience of handling confidential information.
A willingness to work within the framework and be sensitive to the ethos of the Catholic Church.
Valid driving license and access to own vehicle essential.
