It's an exciting time to join the Built Environment Maintenance Team at Network Rail (High Speed) as our new Property & Facilities Engineering Manager. We're entering a period of change and growth - new contracts are being tendered and we're working to support our Client, London St Pancras High Speed, with ambitious expansion plans for London St Pancras International.
The 109km London St. Pancras Highspeed infrastructure consists of a diverse range of railway assets such as the track, signalling, overhead line, lineside buildings, depots, viaducts and long tunnels. NRHS is also responsible for operating and maintaining three international stations; St Pancras, Stratford and Ebbsfleet International.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd, NRHS is privately financed under an agreement with our client London St. Pancras Highspeed, undertaking a diverse range of activities from railway infrastructure maintenance and operations - through to station facilities management and retail on behalf of our client.

Brief Description
The role
Property & Facilities Engineering Manager
You will be a hard services technical expert, ideally with a specialism in either electrical or mechanical installations, whilst being an adept engineer who is able to master an understanding of other building systems such as lifts and escalators, and data and communications.
The Built Environment Maintenance Team are responsible for the management and maintenance of over 20,000 assets across three international stations, three High Speed depots, and a number of other ancillary buildings. Strong commercial skills to manage the contractors who deliver this maintenance is critical to both your and our success.

About the role (External)
The person
So, who are we looking for? If you can match the essential criteria below, then we look forward to receiving your application.
Essential

  • Educated to degree level (engineering, building services, workplace and facilities management) or equivalent
  • Holds a relevant professional qualification, e.g., MRICS, MBIFM or similar.
  • Strong understanding of building services including electrical, utilities, and systems.
  • Sound technical knowledge of Landlord & Tenant Law
  • Holder of relevant health & safety qualifications, e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate or similar
  • Proven experience in effective management of facilities management across multiple buildings or sites.
  • Proven contract management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
Although it isn't essential, it would be helpful to your application if you also matched the below:
Desirable
  • Knowledge of policies and standards relating to office accommodation
  • Proven negotiation skills with contractors and service delivery partners.
  • Full driving licence

The role is based at London Stratford Place, however frequent travel to our other office and site locations along the High Speed line is expected.

The benefit package is attractive, with a base salary of 55,411 enhanced by an inner London Allowance of 3,200 and an on-call allowance.
