The Property Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all properties within our portfolio remain safe, compliant, and well?maintained. You'll carry out thorough inspections, identify issues, and produce detailed, high?quality reports that support effective maintenance planning and informed decision?making. This is a hands?on role that requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications or certifications in property inspection, building surveying, construction, or a related field.
Strong understanding of building structures, materials, systems, and construction methods.
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to accurately assess property condition.
Confident written and verbal communication skills.
Competence in using digital tools and software for reporting and documentation.
Up?to?date knowledge of government regulations relating to property standards and compliance.
Ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and adapt to changing priorities.
Strong organisational and time?management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and conduct on?site inspections of properties, covering interiors, exteriors, structural elements, and building systems (including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC).
Identify and record defects, maintenance requirements, safety risks, and potential future issues.
Produce clear, comprehensive inspection reports with written assessments, photographs, measurements, and diagrams.
Communicate findings effectively and provide practical recommendations for repairs, improvements, or further investigation.
Ensure all inspections and reports meet current legislation, industry standards, and internal procedures.
Keep up to date with changes in local, regional, and national property regulations.
Provide guidance to maintenance teams and management on addressing identified issues.
Maintain accuracy, professionalism, and consistency across all inspection activities.
Support quality?control processes to ensure reliable and standardised reporting.
