Job Overview: Maintenance Assistant (Including Painting and Decorating)

We are seeking a skilled and reliable

Maintenance Assistant

to support our Maintenance Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our facility. This hands-on role involves a broad range of maintenance tasks, including mechanical and electrical systems, general repairs, and painting and decorating work.

Working as part of a small, dedicated team, the successful candidate will contribute to maintaining high operational standards across the premises.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in managing and prioritizing work orders to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks Perform regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential issues Carry out a variety of repairs, including mechanical, electrical, and decorative work (painting and decorating) Coordinate with external contractors for specialist repairs or installations when required Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including work completed, parts used, and costs Monitor stock levels of tools, equipment, and spare parts to ensure availability Work collaboratively with other departments to support operational goals and minimize downtime

Qualifications and Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair a range of equipment Experience in painting and decorating is essential Good project and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively Basic electrical knowledge or experience (preferred) Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Pay: Up to 12.60 per hour
