We're looking for a Proposal Copywriter to join our growing and ambitious team. While you will have flexibility to work remotely, you will be expected to come into our Central London office a couple of a days a week to collaborate with key team members. This balance offers the best of both worlds: remote work flexibility while fostering creativity and teamwork through in-person collaboration.
Every project starts with a brief. Clients come to Basis looking for bespoke research solutions, and in response, the team creates tailored proposals that articulate their recommended approach, expertise, and value.
You'll work alongside researchers and strategists to bring their thinking to life--crafting written proposals that are clear, compelling, and well-structured. Proposals are primarily developed in PowerPoint (sometimes Word) and typically include a mix of written narrative, visual explanation, team credentials, timelines, and costings.
It's about owning the storytelling--collaborating with the team to shape the content, express the right tone of voice, and help win exciting new projects.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a copywriter who enjoys turning complex ideas into compelling, persuasive writing. If you're curious about people, business, and what makes different sectors tick--and love crafting clear, polished copy--this role could be a perfect fit.
What You'll Be Doing
Write clear, compelling copy for new business proposals across a wide variety of sectors.
Collaborate closely with researchers who will provide a structured outline, key points, and raw content for you to develop into full proposal narratives.
Join briefings and internal scoping conversations to ensure you fully understand the brief, the client challenge, and the proposed approach.
Contribute to improving the clarity, tone, and persuasiveness of proposals, working to tight timelines and high standards.
Adapt content for different audiences, tailoring tone and emphasis depending on the sector, market, or client expectations.
Occasionally assist with wider content such as case studies, pitch decks, or other BD support materials.
Key qualities for the role include:
You'll likely have a background in copywriting, content creation, or proposal writing--either in-house or freelance--and thrive on crafting copy that is both persuasive and professional.
You'll Need:
Excellent written English, with a clear, concise and engaging style.
Strong experience writing for business audiences--ideally proposals, bids, or commercial decks.
Ability to quickly absorb complex information and turn it into clear narrative.
A collaborative approach--you'll be joining a team of passionate specialists who value clear communication and creative thinking.
Confidence using PowerPoint and Word to structure and present content.
A keen eye for detail and quality, even under time pressure.
How to apply:
Please email to careers@basisresearch.co.uk your CV and a covering letter summarising your expertise and experience, and why you would be a good fit for the role.
