We are seeking an experienced Country Pub Chef to join our kitchen team. This is a hands-on role in a small kitchen environment where you will take ownership of menu planning and food preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook traditional pub fare, including pies, mash, and Sunday roasts to a consistently high standard Develop and implement new menu ideas that complement our existing offerings and appeal to our clientele Manage kitchen operations independently, working closely with one Kitchen Porter Maintain food safety and hygiene standards at all times Control food costs and manage inventory efficiently Ensure timely service during peak hours Train and support the Kitchen Porter as needed

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position working 30-40 hours per week. You will work in a small, compact kitchen environment where efficiency and adaptability are essential.

Compensation:

Annual salary of 27,000, with the opportunity for a pay rise upon successful performance in the role.

Essential Qualities:

Proven experience as a Country Pub Chef or similar role, with expertise in classic pub dishes Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision Ability to work effectively in a small kitchen with limited space Strong organisational and time-management skills Enthusiasm for bringing fresh ideas to the menu while respecting traditional offerings Excellent food hygiene knowledge and commitment to safety standards Reliable, professional, and team-oriented approach Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Attributes:

Experience mentoring or training kitchen staff Knowledge of local sourcing and seasonal ingredients Understanding of food costing and menu profitability
