Job Summary

Traditional village pub on a Marston's Menu, requires a strong and experienced chef to join our small and community focused team.

Our kitchen is relatively quiet and predominantly solo run with the exception of Sunday Carvery.?

Must be competent and happy to work solo shifts.

Shifts are Thurs - Sun approx 12-8pm with additional hours available to cover holidays and events.

Duties

Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and service. Supervise and manage kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications. Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards Train and mentor kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food preparation, and safety practices. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained in good working order.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or hospitality setting. Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management. Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations. Excellent leadership abilities with a passion for mentoring others. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to liaise with both kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
