Crecy Publishing is a leading publisher of transport and military history books. Based close to Manchester Airport, the company has an international client base and established relationships with authors, printers, distributors and publishing industry professionals worldwide. We have an international readership and long-term relationships with authors, suppliers, distributors and other publishing professionals all over the world.
In line with our growth plans, we are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Publishing Coordinator to join our tight-knit team. This is a fantastic hands-on opportunity for someone who understands the publishing process and enjoys being at the centre of the action in a small dynamic office where no two days are the same.
Key responsibilities include:
Co-ordinating with authors, contributors, proof-readers, designers and printers to maintain our busy book publishing schedule;
Maintaining editorial databases and related administration;
Co-ordinating the release of sales information, creating catalogues and other marketing materials;
Attending trade and enthusiast shows in the UK and possibly overseas;
Applying editorial strategies and initiatives to maintain and streamline the book publishing process.
We are looking for someone who:
Has a good eye for detail, with a pro-active problem-solving attitude, can stay cool under pressure and be adaptable when needed;
Has the ability to work under their own initiative whilst also working with an internal and external team to achieve editorial objectives;
Is a very organised person, with a good working knowledge of systems including MS outlook, word, excel, etc. and able to learn online editorial systems and databases;
Is happy to work 'hands-on' over a wide variety of tasks;
Preferably has experience with social media marketing and ecommerce administration;
Possesses an excellent standard of written and spoken English;
Has the ability to communicate and build positive working relationships with contacts at all levels.
