Business Systems is a dynamic team within the Group Technology division. The team aims to provide Bloomsbury\'s content creators, commissioners and marketers with the best possible tools and support.

The Publishing Systems team are at the heart of Bloomsbury\'s drive to promote the highest possible level of staff confidence in their use of Biblio and other publishing systems; thereby ensuring that our product data is as comprehensively and accurately represented as possible in both downstream applications (financial, inventory, CRM etc systems) and the trade/institutional data supply chains.

An opportunity has arisen for a self-starter with strong attention to detail and experience of working with Biblio to join our team.

The role

Reporting to the Publishing Systems Manager, this London based role comprises:

  • 1st/2nd line helpdesk function, as part of Business Systems team. Focussing on publishing systems for the Trade Publishing Division.
  • Help drive process change and best practice use of Biblio through training and influence in the company.
  • Lead or assist with release testing and functional fixes to applications, as well as the assessment of system development proposals.
  • Lead or assist with security and data audits of our systems.
  • Lead or assist with the delivery of system user training.
  • Data and systems-related project work.
  • Acting as a point of expertise on workflow-related issues; advising business staff on systems and workflow-related matters.
  • Writing and maintaining documentation.
Knowledge, skills and experience
  • Considerable experience of working with Biblio.
  • Considerable experience of working in a trade publishing house.
  • High level Excel skills.
  • Experience of successfully putting together a training programme and running training sessions.
  • Good communicator - able to form relationships across all levels of the company.
  • Personable with a team focussed inclusive approach.
  • Attention to detail.
Additional information

The role is a full-time permanent position

Salary Pay Point: \xc2\xa340,000

The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Tuesday and Thursday
