Job Description

An opportunity has arisen in our Finance Department for an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our team in Glenrothes.

Applicants should have previous experience working as a Purchase Ledger Assistant in a busy finance office. Excellent IT skills/ERP experience and good knowledge of Excel is required.

We require someone who can work full-time hours Monday to Friday however flexibility will be shown for the right candidate.

Duties include:



Matching purchase orders and goods received notes (GRNs). Receipt, collation, coding, entering of purchase ledger invoices onto ERP system. Distribution of all purchase ledger invoices for authorisation. Preparation of all payments ensuring authorised documentation has been adhered too. Contact with suppliers regarding queries/disputes. Adding new supplier accounts to the purchase ledger/keeping them up to date. Release of creditors payments to ensure continuity of supplies. Month end procedures to close purchase ledger, including back-up routines. Update supplier spreadsheet to ensure accuracy of invoices debit notes/stock receipts. Purchase ledger intercompany monthly revaluation and transactions. Checking Visa statements, collating company expenses and handling petty cash. Assisting in year-end routines and preparation of reports for auditors, including stock take. Assisting in nominal ledger entries and reconciliations. Other ad-hoc projects within the department.
The successful applicant will be self-motivated, methodical, have excellent communication skills with the ability to prioritise workload. Proven IT Skills are essential, in particular the use of Excel. An accounting qualification is desirable but not essential if QBE.

The position is a full-time role, subject to completion of a satisfactory 3-month probation period. This role will report directly to the Finance Manager and is based in our Glenrothes facility at Southfield Industrial Estate.
