JOB TITLE: Purchase Ledger Clerk (flexible)

(You will have experience of Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable or Supplier Accounts)

LOCATION: Chard, Somerset

SALARY & BENEFITS: \xc2\xa322,000 - \xc2\xa326,000 PA DOE

25 days holiday, Pension Scheme, plus Bank Holidays, Healthcare Cash Plan, 4.5 day working week, hybrid working optional

HOURS: 8am - 5pm Monday - Thursday, 8am - 12.30pm Friday

THE COMPANY: A long established, family run construction company that prides themselves on being a reliable, customer focused business.

THE ROLE: You will based in a friendly, sociable team of 4 in the finance department, responsible for maintaining accurate and up to date records of all financial transactions related to purchases. You will ensure the timely processing of invoices, reconciliation of accounts, and collaboration with various stakeholders to support the smooth functioning of the financial processes.

DUTIES:

  • Invoice Processing - receiving and verifying invoices for goods and services, coding and accurately entering invoices into the financial system, ensuring proper authorisation and documentation for all invoices.
  • Supplier Management - maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and addressing any invoice discrepancies or issues, reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Payment Processing - preparing and processing payment runs, ensuring adherence to payment terms, collaborating with colleagues in the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely payments.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting - maintaining organised and accurate records of all purchase transactions, generating regular reports to track and analyse purchase ledger data.
  • Compliance - ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations, assisting in internal and external audits as needed.
THE CANDIDATE:
  • Proven experience with Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable, Supplier Accounts or similar role.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software and MS Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills and team player.
