Job Title: Purchase Ledger Clerk

Salary: \xc2\xa325,000 per annum

Company Overview:

A dynamic and rapidly growing firm based in Sunderland are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team and support our financial operations.

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of the company by accurately recording, verifying, and processing invoices, expenses, and other financial transactions. You will work closely with our finance team and external suppliers to ensure the efficient management of our purchase ledger.

Key Responsibilities:

Invoice Processing:

  • Receive, review, and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approval.
  • Code and post invoices into the accounting system.
  • Resolve discrepancies and issues with invoices promptly.
Supplier Communication:
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Handle supplier inquiries and address any payment-related concerns.
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and adherence to payment terms.
Expense Reimbursement:
  • Process employee expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare expense reports for approval and reimbursement.
Month-End Closing:
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with accruals and prepayments.
Record Keeping:
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of all financial transactions.
  • File and archive documents in accordance with company policies.
Reporting:
  • Generate regular reports related to the purchase ledger.
  • Provide support in the preparation of financial reports as needed.
Ad Hoc Tasks:
  • Assist the finance team with various ad hoc tasks and projects as required
Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Previous experience in a similar role or relevant finance/accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel , Word).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of purchase ledger processes and financial principles is a plus.
