About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to support our dynamic Finance & HR team. You will manage purchase ledger tasks, project costing, timesheets, and general Finance administration, helping drive efficiency and accuracy across the department.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Ledger:
Accurately process 500-800+ invoices per month in Sage 50 and bespoke project management systems
Set up and maintain supplier accounts
Export/import invoices via CSV files
Process subcontract invoices under CIS
Reconcile supplier invoices and assist with weekly payments
Liaise with suppliers to resolve queries
Accounts & Administration:
Enter monthly project costs for stock items and labour hours using Excel
Maintain and order company stationery
Place online orders via company credit card
Handle internal and external queries professionally, including invoice disputes
Manage petty cash and weekly credit card postings, including monthly statement reconciliation
Process weekly payroll timesheets
Undertake additional duties as requested by Line Manager
Candidate Requirements:
Experience in purchase ledger
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Strong problem-solving abilities
Professional and approachable manner
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Desirable:
AAT Qualification
Experience using Sage
