TBD (Owen Holland) Ltd is a leading provider of innovative Ground Support Equipment (GSE) solutions, supporting airports, airlines, and MRO providers worldwide. We are committed to delivering safe, reliable, and efficient equipment that powers the aviation industry from the ground up. We are seeking an experienced and driven Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement function and oversee a team of buyers within our engineering operations.

Key Responsibilities



Lead and manage the company's purchasing function, overseeing the procurement of mechanical, electrical, and steel components, equipment, and technical services. Develop and implement strategic sourcing and procurement strategies to support business objectives and cost-efficiency goals. Manage, mentor and appraise the Purchasing Team, ensuring effective performance, professional development, and alignment with company objectives. Drive supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management with both domestic and international suppliers to secure best value and quality. Build and maintain strong, long-term supplier relationships to optimise performance, ensure continuity of supply, and mitigate risks. Monitor supplier quality, delivery reliability and commercial terms, implementing improvement plans where required. Oversee the preparation and presentation of sourcing summaries, supplier comparisons, cost savings reports, and procurement documentation to Senior Management. Provide timely and accurate reports to Senior Management on component availability, potential supply shortages, and delivery risks. Work closely with internal stakeholders including Sales and Spares, Engineering, Production, and Accounts to ensure purchasing activities align with operational and financial requirements. Keep abreast of market trends, new technologies and pricing developments to identify opportunities for value creation and innovation. Lead and champion continuous improvement initiatives across the purchasing process, focusing on cost reduction, efficiency, and strategic spend management.

Qualifications & Experience



Proven track record of managing a purchasing or procurement team within an engineering/manufacturing environment. Commercial negotiator skills required Strong experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, and strategic sourcing. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Commercially astute with the ability to balance cost, quality, and delivery requirements. Strong analytical and reporting skills, with a focus on driving results and improvements.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 50,000.00-60,000.00 per year
