Job Overview


We are a SME manufacturing business specialising in beautiful, high-quality architectural ironmongery for a discerning client base. Our products are crafted with care, precision, and a deep respect for design, serving architects, designers, and clients who value detail and excellence. We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement function and help us get the most from our Epicor ERP/MRP system, while building strong, collaborative relationships with our supplier base.

Responsibilities



Manage all purchasing activities to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and components. Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with production schedules and business goals. Take ownership of the purchasing function within Epicor ERP/MRP, ensuring accurate data entry, reporting, and system optimisation. Collaborate with production, planning, and finance teams to improve system integration and data flow. Identify and implement improvements in MRP usage to enhance forecasting, order accuracy, and procurement efficiency. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with existing and new suppliers. Lead supplier negotiations and performance reviews to ensure quality, reliability, and value. Support supplier onboarding and development to align with our brand values and quality expectations. Work cross-functionally with design, production, and quality teams to support product development and manufacturing needs.

Qualifications - Essential



Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role within a manufacturing environment. Strong working knowledge of Epicor ERP/MRP or similar systems. Excellent communication, negotiation, and supplier management skills. Analytical and detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset. Ability to thrive in a hands-on SME environment. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Qualifications - Desirable



Experience in architectural hardware, ironmongery, or other design-focused manufacturing sectors. Familiarity with lean manufacturing or supply chain optimisation. CIPS qualification or equivalent (or working towards).
