About the role:



We are looking for someone to oversee our procurement activities, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure cost-effective purchasing of materials and services. Reviewing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and collaborating with the commercial teams to maximise department efficiency is a main focus for this role.



Manage and mentor procurement staff, supporting a high-performance team. Identify, evaluate and negotiate with material suppliers to ensure the best possible price, quality and on-time deliveries. Develop and implement strategies to optimise costs and maintain stock levels. Analyse costs, negotiate contracts and seek cost-saving opportunities without reducing quality and service. Manage the overall direction and coordination of procurement for the group Ensure materials meet industry standards and company quality specifications Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and continuous improvement. Stay updated on market trends, price fluctuations, and new materials to make informed decisions Work closely with sales and production to align purchasing needs and customer demands Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, price volatility and supplier reliability. Maintain accurate procurement records, track purchase orders and report on purchasing performance. Track procurement KPIs, analyse data and provide insights for continuous improvement.


What experience do you need to have:



Essential



Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with commercial and operational teams Proven experience in purchasing or chain supply management Strong ability to negotiate contracts, pricing and terms with suppliers Ability to evaluate, select and manage supplier relationships Strong knowledge of inventory control and supply chain operations Ability to analyse market trends, assess risks and make data-driven decisions Experience in leading a purchasing team supporting performance and driving improvements
