Purchasing Manager

Job Description


We are working alongside a Gallery in London who is looking to bring on a Purchasing Manager to their team!

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a similar role, be highly analytical and have a passion for art and design!

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse procurement costs in order to determine the best quantity, quality and time required to acquire materials
  • Obtain the most appropriate materials and goods for projects
  • Minimise risks in the supply chain
  • Oversee contracts and negotiate with suppliers, attending meetings when required
  • Maintaining existing relationships with vendors
  • Work within internal budgets and ensure suppliers are paid and costs are cut where possible
  • Act quickly with regards to returns of materials that are not up to standards and ensure urgent orders are placed when required
  • Enhance inventory processes
  • Maintain, record and survey the procurement management system
Requirements:
  • 5 years experience in a similar role within the manufacturing and production industry
  • Strong ability to negotiate
  • Experience maintaining relationships with outside suppliers
  • Acquired relevant qualifications in supply chain and purchasing
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Understanding of Just-In-Time (JIT) supply
  • Able to travel both nationally and internationally for work
  • Good time-keeping and communication skills
  • A member of a relevant association within purchasing and supply is beneficial
