ALS Mechatronic is trusted globally by start-ups through to multinational powerhouses - ranging from dairies to pharmaceutical companies to help improve their efficiency and production capabilities with our state of the art, bespoke manufacturing machinery, and control systems. We typically automate end-of-line, repeatable labour-intensive processes at speed, by designing and building novel automation machinery, integrating robotics and vision inspection.

We are located in a 20,000 square foot factory just outside Winchcombe in North Gloucestershire, employing ~40 people.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a highly organised, proactive individual to take ownership of our

purchasing and procurement function

, reporting to the engineering director. This is an

office-based role

, working closely with operations, engineering, and production. Longer term you'll be supporting business growth initiatives, including cost-benefit analysis of new technologies and investments.

You'll be responsible for:

Defining and implementing purchasing procedures across the business Managing all company purchasing activity - from raw materials to specialist parts Monitoring and managing supplier performance to ensure value, quality, and reliability Generating budget reports for key stakeholders Managing cost control for major projects Identifying and maintaining appropriate minimum stock levels Liaising with our production team to schedule timely deliveries Overseeing all service providers and associated contracts Managing and maintaining our spare parts price list Mentoring team members who will assist with purchasing admin

You will need to have:

Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or stock control Hands-on experience with

ERP systems

and strong

Office 365 skills

Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness Solid understanding of stock management principles A confident, process-driven approach Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills

It would be great if you also have:

Experience using

SAP Business One

A background in

engineering or technical purchasing
