Beacon Lily is an all-in business management service providing financial, HR, and property/asset management solutions to our clients. We support a diverse portfolio of companies, with our head office based at Kingsway Shopping Centre, Newport. Our clients operate predominantly within the property and construction industries, including a construction firm, corporate landlords, bespoke furniture makers, and serviced accommodation providers.

About the Role



We are seeking a highly organised and commercially aware

Procurement & Purchasing Manager

to strengthen our growing team. The role will have a strong focus on procurement and supplier management within the construction sector, requiring proven experience in managing relationships, negotiating with suppliers, contracts, and ensuring value for money.

You will play a key role in manging material requests, managing suppliers accounts, and monitoring budgets, while also providing support to wider business operations. Finance experience is desirable but not essential, as full training on our systems will be provided.

This is a varied and fast-paced role where no two days are the same. It is well-suited to someone with a background in

project management and construction procurement

who enjoys building strong supplier relationships, working to deadlines, and supporting operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities



Manage the full procurement cycle, from material requests through to invoice approvals.

Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key suppliers.

Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and commercial agreements to achieve best value.

Track and monitor orders, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.

Review and manage supplier contracts, credit limits, and performance.

Provide project support, including cost tracking, budgeting, and analysis for construction or wider projects.

Assist with purchase ledger activities related to construction projects.

Support property repairs and maintenance procurement.

Maintain accurate records across procurement, project management, and property management systems.

Contribute to wider finance and admin tasks as required (training provided).

Contribute to periodic reporting requirements (e.g. reconciliations, VAT submissions, or similar).

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes



You will have:

Minimum 3 years' experience in procurement/project management, ideally within construction or property.

Strong knowledge of building materials and supply chains.

Proven track record in negotiating with suppliers and managing commercial relationships.

Experience of budgeting, cost analysis, and supplier contract management.

Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.

A proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.

IT-literate with the ability to learn and adapt to multiple systems (experience with Xero or similar software desirable).

Finance experience (AAT or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.

Hours



40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 8am-6pm (flexible).
