QHSE Advisor UK



WellGear are the industry leading supplier of Hydraulic Workover, Plug & Abandonment and snubbing units and services.

WellGear are looking for a suitable candidate to join their fast growing and dynamic business. The QHSE Advisor role is a key role within the WellGear operational business structure.

The scope of the WellGear QHSE Advisor includes providing HSE Safety advice, support and offers HSE based technical input to all facets of the WellGear business, primarily based and focussed on the UK but with the potential for overseas activity.

The successful candidate will perform a vital role in the growth of WellGear UK and will report into the WellGear QHSE Manager whilst supporting UK operations and is located onshore in the yard but may at times be required for offshore visits.

The QHSE Advisor will provide operational support to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of activities on the yard and preparation of projects. The QHSE Advisor works closely and is the first contact for frontline teams, supervisors, and contractors to embed Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards in daily operations, proactively identifying risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving a culture of continuous improvement in the workplace.

Role:

This includes but is not limited to

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT

Provide day-to-day QHSE guidance and technical support to site teams, supervisors, and contractors. Assist and coach in daily toolbox talks, pre-job safety briefings, and operational meetings if required. Assist in implementing safe work procedures and risk assessments. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with the QHSE policies, procedures, and local regulations of WellGear. Holds authority to stop any job that is deemed to be unsafe and report this to management Support the WellGear yard and services, additional duties may be required Occasional travelling may be required.
MONITORING & COMPLIANCE

Monitor safe use of equipment and ensure proper use of PPE Support environmental monitoring activities, including waste management, spill control, and emissions tracking. Prepare monthly (KPI) statistics
AUDITS & INSPECTIONS

Performing internal audits (in compliance with ISO standards). Performing HSE inspections on site (onshoreoffshore). Ensure registration of audits and inspections in ERP and monitoring follow-up of actions.
TRAINING & AWARENESS

Deliver on-the-job coaching and QHSE awareness sessions to operational teams. Mentor and guide team members in hazard identification, risk control, and safe work practices. Conduct and support induction programs for new employees and contractors.
QUALITY ASSURANCE

Support document control for permits, procedures, inspection records, and QHSE reports. Assist in the implementation of quality processes and checks, to ensure these are followed. Provide feedback to improve operational workflows and minimize non-conformances.
INCIDENTS AND NON-CONFORMANES

Ensure incidents and non-conformance are recorded and actions are taken. Support incident response activities, including initial containment, reporting. investigation support, and the development of preventive measures.
MANAGEMENT OF CHANGE

Participating in the MOC process regarding changes.

Education, training and experience



Diploma (or working towards) in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. NEBOSH, or proven track record Knowledge of local and international QHSE regulations and standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001) Preferably 3-5 years' QHSE experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or related industry NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certification preferred ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001 internal auditor Ability to influence and promote a strong safety culture at all levels Ability to work in challenging environments and under pressure. Good data analysis skills. (making lists, graphs and statistics), attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse operational teams. Proactive and hands-on approach Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis skills Computer / Software skills; Microsoft Office Software Previous experience in similar role
