Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, skilled, detail-focused and results-driven QHSE Manager to lead our QHSE department. This is an integral role within the company and suitable for candidates who want to make a real difference in the operations of the business. The successful candidate will be experienced in quality, health and safety and environmental management, have a keen eye for detail, be self-motivated and has excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

This is a highly encompassing role working across all areas of the company, ensuring that our quality, health & safety and environmental management systems are robust, compliant and continually improving.

We are ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001 accredited. If you're motivated by high standards of work, achieving results, and continuous improvement, you'll excel in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the QHSE Team, ensuring their progression and success. Have a detailed knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements. Manage and be responsible for the company's ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 accredited Integrated Management System and ensure compliance and improvements across all aspects of the company. Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting. Identify risks concerning quality, health & safety and environmental impact and create plans for improvement in line with applicable standards. Create and implement quality, health & safety and environmental management processes in line with applicable standards. Assess and audit all aspects of quality, health & safety and environmental practices across the company, including in manufacturing and sub-contract manufacturing. Oversee, report on and ensure successful close out of all non-conformance reports. Create regular reports on KPIs and issue to stakeholders as required. Identify, implement and help the company achieve further relevant accreditations. Act as the point of contact on all quality, health & safety and environmental issues or queries, internally and externally. Establish and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. Attend customer and supplier meetings and assist in/carry out audits and assessments where required. Build and maintain excellent product knowledge. Carry out other duties as may be required in line with the scope and seniority of the role.
ESG & Sustainability Leadership:

Embed ESG and sustainability principles throughout QHSE processes, procedures and decision-making. Support initiatives to reduce environmental impact through effective environmental management and compliance with ISO 14001. Contribute to company-wide ESG initiatives, reporting and sustainability projects. Encourage and influence colleagues to consider ESG implications in their work and behaviours.
Continuous Improvement:

Drive a proactive culture of innovation, efficiency and rapid problem-solving across QHSE activities to maintain Solarport's market leadership and uphold the highest standards of quality, safety and environmental performance.

Key Requirements

Qualified or experienced in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. NEBOSH (General Certificate) in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent. Meticulous in your approach with a strong attention to detail. Ability to successfully implement new systems and ensure colleagues and stakeholders are invested. Excellent communication, interpersonal and management skills. Able to understand and learn technical product information. Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities. A professional demeanour. A valid driver's licence. Own vehicle suitable to use for work trips as required (company pool cars are available subject to availability; EV car salary sacrifice scheme available following successful probation; and individual company car also available, subject to agreement) Will travel as required (requirement for days in Head Office and other locations).
Desirable Qualifications:

Higher-level health & safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent). Lead Auditor qualifications in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Experience in leading and managing a team. Experience within manufacturing, construction, structural steel or renewable energy sectors. Experience implementing and maintaining integrated management systems across multiple sites. Experience presenting QHSE performance and reports to senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Pay: 50,000.00-60,000.00 per year
