Job Title:



QHSE Manager (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment)



Role Purpose:



The QHSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental management systems. The role ensures compliance with legal requirements, ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001), and all other relevant accreditations, while promoting a strong culture of continuous improvement and safe working practices across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:



Health & Safety



Develop, implement, and maintain company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe systems of work Ensure compliance with all relevant H&S legislation and regulatory requirements Conduct and review risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), COSHH assessments, and accident investigations Monitor workplace safety performance and implement corrective and preventative actions Deliver H&S training, inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing awareness programmes Act as the company's competent person for Health & Safety matters

Quality Management (ISO 9001)



Maintain and continually improve the Quality Management System (QMS) Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and customer specifications Manage non-conformances, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives Support operational teams to embed quality processes across the business

Environmental Management (ISO 14001)



Manage the Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with ISO 14001 Identify and manage environmental aspects and impacts Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and permits Drive environmental improvement initiatives and sustainability objectives

Occupational Health & Safety Management (ISO 45001)



Maintain and improve the Occupational Health & Safety Management System Ensure worker consultation and participation in H&S matters Monitor and report on OH&S performance and objectives

Audits & Accreditations



Plan, conduct, and manage internal audits across all management systems Coordinate external audits and surveillance visits (ISO, client, regulatory) Maintain all company accreditations (e.g. ISO standards, industry schemes, client approvals) Manage audit findings, corrective actions, and continuous improvement plans

Compliance & Reporting



Maintain legal registers and ensure ongoing compliance Prepare and present QHSE performance reports to senior management Monitor KPIs and drive improvement based on performance data

Leadership & Culture



Promote a positive QHSE culture throughout the organisation Provide expert advice and guidance to management and employees Support continuous improvement and best practice across all business activities

Skills & Competencies:



Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards In-depth understanding of Health & Safety legislation Experience managing audits and accreditation processes Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels

Typical Qualifications (desirable):



NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001) Degree or relevant professional qualification in QHSE or related field
