Title: QHSE Manager



Responsible to: Operations Director



Location: Poole, Dorset - BH12 2NU



Working Hours: 40 per week (Monday to Friday)

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced quality and health and safety professional to join a global market leading manufacturing company operating in the healthcare industry. Based in Poole, working closely with all other departments and reporting directly to the Operations Director. Own the end-to-end Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental agenda across the business.

Drive compliance, mitigate operational risk, and maintain certification to ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO13485, and related standards.

Deliver a proactive QHSE culture that underpins product integrity, regulatory assurance, and workforce safety across all environments--factory, warehouse, and customer sites.

Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:



Quality



Collaboration with senior management in the development of strategic goals, operational plans and performance.

Lead the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO9001 and ISO13485 requirements.

Embed quality oversight into production workflows, engineering change control, and product release cycles.

Manage internal audits, non-conformance reporting, CAPA, and continuous improvement pipelines.

Partner with Engineering, Service and Production to ensure robust validation, calibration, traceability, and documentation control.

Own supplier quality governance and escalation processes.

Establishing and controlling conditions of production to satisfy customer and quality specifications.

Champion a culture of quality and safety across the business.

Deliver targeted training and competency programmes for factory teams, managers, and engineers.

Provide data-driven reporting to senior leadership on QHSE performance, risk exposure, and improvement roadmaps.

Drive cross-functional alignment on quality controls, product safety, and regulatory compliance.

Health and Safety



Oversee the corporate H&S framework across all DDC locations.

Build and enforce safe-system-of-work protocols for workshop, warehouse, and field operations.

Ensure engineers operating on the road and on customer sites have compliant RAMS, PPE, training, and incident reporting channels.

Conduct risk assessments, accident investigations, and regulatory reporting.

Maintain alignment with UK H&S legislation and industry best practice.

Maintaining employee safety and morale by creating safe working and efficient working environment.

Compliance and Governance



Implement new standards as required to improve QHSE

Maintain ISO14001 certification and environmental management systems.

Track and report environmental KPIs--waste, emissions, chemical management, energy use.

Lead environmental risk reduction and sustainability initiatives aligned to corporate objectives.

Maintain readiness for external audits across ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO13485, and any additional regulatory frameworks (e.g., UK MDR, CE/UKCA as applicable).

Act as primary liaison with certification bodies, regulatory authorities, and customer quality auditors.

Ensure documentation, training records, and compliance evidence remain audit-ready year-round.

Experience



Managing and driving change

Proven QHSE leadership in a manufacturing or medical device environment.

Strong working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO13485.

Experience supporting field-based engineering teams and customer-site activities.

Demonstrated capability in audit management, CAPA, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.

Solid understanding of UK H&S regulations (PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, RIDDOR, etc.).

Effective stakeholder management with the ability to influence at all levels.

Structured thinker with strong analytical, reporting, and process-design skills.
