Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating project costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget. This role requires a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills to assess various factors that influence construction expenses.

Duties

Analyse blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and scope. Conduct site visits to gather information on existing conditions and assess potential challenges. Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including labour, materials, equipment, and overheads. Monitor project budgets and provide recommendations for cost control measures throughout the construction process. Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing. Review and update estimates as necessary based on changes in project scope or market conditions. Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals for new projects.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations. Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical skills with a focus on cost control and budget management. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
