Lawson Fuses Limited (LFL) is seeking a 'QSHE Coordinator' for its headquarters located near Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. This is a key role for the business. The role holder will support the QA Manager in delivering the QSHE roadmap as the business continues to develop. Additional aspects of the role include QC and support to other departments.
The main purpose of the role is to support the QA Manager/HSE Coordinator through a busy period of change to ensure on-going compliance with legal and other requirements such as Group policies and ISO Standards.

Lawson Fuses under the banner of Lucy Group is focusing on accelerated growth of its product line and subsequently the share of the market. The role of QSHE Coordinator will be key on this journey.
This vacancy has arisen due internal promotion and is for a fixed term of 1 year. There may be the possibility of extension.
Job Dimensions:
This is a full-time role based in our Newcastle upon Tyne plant. This role reports to the QA Manager who also coordinates H&S on site. The role will work across the business.
There are four dimensions to the role:
Develop existing management systems and arrangements for QSHE including roll out of arrangements to wider business.
Ensuring continuation of product and management systems certification.
Support transfer of manufacturing and supply chain to sister site.
Sales, laboratory, R&D and manufacturing support.
This role requires energy, enthusiasm, a desire to learn and the abilities to challenge and influence.
We are looking for some from a manufacturing background with exposure to QSHE management system activities.
Key activities of this role will include involvement the following:
Critically reviewing and defining QHSE processes.
Developing QHSE documentation.
Investigating quality issues including non-conforming material from suppliers, issues in production and customer complaints.
Audits and checks.
Preparation and delivery of training material.
Key Accountabilities:
These will include aiding:
Investigations.
Non-conformities throughout the business including audit findings and complaints.
H&S incidents.
Documentation:
Drafting/approving/reviewing/issuing.
QC:
Assessing incoming goods.
Measurements to support investigations.
Critical review of current arrangements throughout processes.
Developing control plans.
Audits and checks.
Internal audits, gap analysis.
Internal H&S inspections and regular checks.
Assisting with external audits (regulatory, customer).
Technical and Administrative Support:
Information gathering, analysis of information and data.
Record keeping.
Communication
Preparation of reports, delivery of toolbox talks/training material.
People
Mentoring, training, supporting.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
The ideal candidate will have worked across QSHE. However, the right person with experience in one area wishing to broaden their experience and knowledge would be considered.
Minimum
:
Exposure to QSHE management system activities such control of documents, non-conformities/incidents and corrective actions. Ideally experience of internal audits.
Basic understanding of standards such as ISO9001, ISO14001, ideally ISO17025.
Process mapping and developing documentation (e.g. risk assessments, standard operating procedures).
Competent with common Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word and ideally Visio.
Experience of collating data to generate key performance indicators and simple reports.
Good written and spoken English.
The confidence to present material to an audience e.g. delivering toolbox talks and other training.
Ability to interpret basic engineering drawings.
Competent in simple dimensional and other testing (e.g. micrometers, ohmmeters).
