An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified or part-qualified Chartered Accountant to join a well-established firm. This is a great role for someone looking to take on a varied position within a supportive and professional environment.The ideal candidate will be confident managing a portfolio of clients and experienced in delivering a full range of accounting services including tax returns, VAT, and limited company accounts.What's on Offer?

• Salary: Competitive & Flexible (Dependent on Experience)
• Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• Location: Hailsham

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
• Complete personal and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations
• Manage VAT returns and offer advice on VAT queries
• Handle self-assessment returns, liaising with clients as required
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, offering clear and proactive financial advice
• Ensure accounting standards, deadlines, and statutory obligations are consistently met
• Contribute to improving internal processes and maintaining best practices within the team

Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements:

• ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent experience)
• Recent experience in a practice-based role
• Strong working knowledge of tax, VAT, and self-assessment procedures
• Competency in using accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to build client relationships
• A proactive, self-motivated approach to workload and deadlines
