About the role



Post Title: Adult Learning Tutor ICT

Team: Adult Learning Service


Bury Adult Learning Service is one of the key providers of adult and community learning in the borough of Bury. We were rated as Good by Ofsted in November 2021, who noted that we "put the learner and the community at the heart of everything (we) do."



We are looking for tutors to join our curriculum teams for the 2025-26 academic year, delivering accredited, non-accredited and community learning courses at our main centre in Bury and in community venues around the town.


You'll need



A recognised teaching qualification at a minimum of Level 4 (e.g. Certificate in Education, Diploma in Education & Training, PGCE/PGDE).

Good organisational skills to ensure effective planning, preparation and delivery of excellent teaching, and to maintain accurate learner records.

The flexibility to work a range of working patterns, including some evenings


Ideally, you will also have some experience of teaching ICT in an adult and community learning environment (or other further education setting) and take an inclusive, innovative approach to teaching and learning that inspires learners to engage and achieve.



Our tutors typically work between 6 and 23 hour working week comprising up to 12.6 teaching hours and 5 hours for planning, preparation and lesson follow-up, subject to the requirements of the service. Specific requirements for this role will be outlined at interview stage.
