Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Carer to provide high-quality care for an elderly, adult wheelchair dependent male in his own home. The job is based in a single location in a calming environment. The person essentially will be part of the family.
Duties include
The Carer is expected to deliver the full range of personal care services, including:
Assist the client with daily living activities such as personal care, bathing, dressing, and grooming Provide companionship, stimulation and emotional support to enhance the client's quality of life Prepare a light lunch (which will be be provided) Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for client including changing bed, washing clothes. Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in hobbies or interests. Document client progress and communicate effectively with the family
Requirements
Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as senior care/home care Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility or transfers. Training will be given on the use of existing transfer equipment. Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach towards patient care Patient and trustworthy Non-smoker Two recent references required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 17,550.00 per year
Expected hours: 25 per week
