We are seeking a QE Manager to join our anodising business and to support the plant in ensuring a continued drive for quality excellence whilst ensuring that all Environmental Management standards are met. You will play an active role in ensuring customer quality satisfaction is maintained and improved and that we operate an environmentally compliant operation.
This is a new role, we are looking for a manager who works well as part of a manufacturing team, actively driving for quality & environmental improvements, and sharing their skills and knowledge with others.
Key Responsibilities
:
Management
Managing the day to day production quality and EMS requirements.
Managing a team of 3 inspectors
Manage & develop Internal Auditing team
Liaise with:
BSI for Q & E Management System audits
Qualanod (European Anodising Quality Standard)
Environment Agency for EPR Permit compliance
Ensuring customer complaints are dealt with in a timely fashion by cross-functional
teams.
Being proactive and hands-on with the production facilities, with an expectation to
spend at least 50% of the typical working day on the shop floor
Facilitating quality & environmental process awareness and training across the
business.
Lead by example for quality & environmental attitudes within the company and drive
to improve.
Quality
Continue to develop the existing quality/environmental systems.
Report non-conformances or internal FFI reject notes and support other departments
in developing robust corrective actions.
Focus on improving process and management control to minimise internal non
conformances.
Understand customer quality requirements and translate these into effective
management processes to ensure that quality requirements are met and exceeded.
Act as the voice of the customer whenever quality concerns arise.
Offering cross department support to ensure quality targets are met.
Understand and resolve non-conformances putting in place robust processes to
ensure continual improvements and root cause analysis.
Using data-driven methods to identify and lead quality improvement activities across
the business.
Environmental
Ensure compliance with all relevant , current and future Environmental standards.
Actively manage the requirements for ISO 14001 , Yorkshire Water and the
Environment agency.
Audits
Prepare manage, complete and support for all external audits.
Including; Quality, ISO 9001 , Qualanod, customer specific audits.
Environmental ISO 14001 , Yorkshire Water and Environment agency.
Develop the existing internal audit system and complete audits across the business.
Using data-driven methods to identify and lead quality improvement activities across
the business.
Lead Quality Improvement Activities
Deliver tangible savings to the business via Continuous Improvement projects.
Support development and updates to the Business Management System and
associated
Processes.
Introduce improvements and continue to develop a Safety and Quality culture.
Provide support in implementing HSE projects and programs.
Desirable Technical Skills:
A solid understanding of the key principles of ISO9001 Quality, ISO14001
Environmental Management Systems is essential.
Experience ( ideally )
At least 2-4 years' experience in a quality manager role within a manufacturing /
production company with direct hands on day to day responsibility for Quality Healthand Environmental compliance.
A current understanding of environmental legislation, and developing plans and
investment projects to ensure compliance.
Able to lead and motivate personnel throughout the business , from daily operations
through to management team.
Experience of Managing QEM systems with monthly reports to management.

Qualifications Required
HCD/HND, or equivalent in Engineering/Quality.
Six Sigma Green-Belt qualification (Desirable).
