We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Manager to oversee our quality assurance processes and ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of HACCP principles. This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with industry regulations and enhancing customer satisfaction through continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Ensuring that line standards are available to operation teams and verifying compliance to them. Annual review of all QAS and Line standards to ensure full compliance to site standards.
Key temperature checks including fridges and freezers - root causing any deviations and ensuring compliance.
Temperature checks on hand wash basin water
Support engineers in Legionella management activities - actioning any deviations.
Due diligence checks on products and processes including quality assessments online, label verification, packing standards.
Participate in traceability & recall exercises - log all non-conformances.
Equipment calibration (such as probes and scales, weights) Maintaining the master log and ensuring it is always up to date.
Verification of average weight checks during and through each production run
CCP metal detection challenges during each production run. CCP assessment completion and competency assessments.
CCP time / temperature challenges during each shift on each cooking vessel
Conduct daily shift taste panel on both WIP and Finished products.
Log shelf-life samples and be sole custodians of the Product Library
Collect both product and environmental samples log and liaise with the lab to ensure appropriate suites are available and testing is appropriate to the material
End of shelf life assessments
Glass and hard plastics audits in line with the RA for site
Collate production run paper work to review before filing
Receive micro test results and react, then file
Maintain non con log via active use during the shift
Issue Quarantine / Hold / Reject notes in a timely and accurate way
Follow up and close out Quarantined / Held / and Rejected materials so full and accurate records are maintained.
Completion of audits according to the schedule log any non-conformances and ensure they are closed out according to the timeline.
Provide support in the Induction process of new / future employees.
Support in the NPD process - at trials, sampling, sending products, arranging lab testing of samples.
Search for and provide paperwork as requested by Production, Warehousing, Engineering, Hygiene.
Management of non conforming stock - quarantine & held stock
Manage Pest Control Contractor if / when necessary.
Call contractor in the event of a pest sighting, and then ensure the business is fully aware of the sighting so the right follow up's are made.
Complete and react to the post clean swab results and ensure detailed records are maintained:
Allergen to non allergen change over
Allergen or non allergen to vegan change over
Standard clean change over
Annual allergen validation is completed

Food safety level 2 Minimum / Food Safety L3 Desired
Auditor qualification Desired
2 years minimum experience in food manufacturing, preferably in a quality role
