Quality Assurance Technician

An excellent opportunity has become available within our Technical team. Working within a small team, duties will include, but not limited to:

Responsibility for the monitoring, reporting and improvement of quality and traceability of the finished products, manufacturing process and food safety compliance. Responsible for the analysis of milk, ingredients, packaging and finished product and to identify, report and act on deviations (non-conformances) Prepare and log routine samples and swabs for external laboratory micro analysis Undertake routine GMP audits to monitor site compliance with standards, procedures and traceability. Reporting on results and raising non-conformances and identifying root cause as appropriate. To work with production to identify causes of non-conformances, appropriate corrective and preventative actions. Supporting the ongoing development of quality improvement activities within operations to develop a quality culture. Conduct daily operational QA checks in line with production schedule Assisting in the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality and HACCP systems Interpret and input production data on electronic system Carry out routine internal and external proficiency testing Take on additional tasks as required
Knowledge of the food industry could be an advantage, but full training will be given. The suitable applicant must be an enthusiastic team player, reliable, flexible and able to work 39-hours per week within the hours of 6am and 5pm on a rotational 7-day working pattern. This includes working one weekend and one evening shift (12pm till 10pm Monday to Thursday) every 5 weeks.

The successful person will have a full UK driving licence and required to be 'on call' out of hours periodically. Welsh speaking desirable.

Pay: 28,888.00-31,088.00 per year
