Summary
We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our team at Redditch Medical. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet stringent quality standards and specifications, playing a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our cleanroom solutions.
Job Purpose:
To ensure that all raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods meet defined quality standards prior to release and shipment. The QC Inspector will also play a key role in supporting Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Quality Management System (QMS) compliance across the site, while assisting in training and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Raw Material Inspection:
Inspect incoming raw materials upon delivery, verifying against purchase orders and certificates of analysis.
Record findings and communicate non-conformances promptly.
Ensure proper labelling and placement into approved or quarantine areas.
Finished Goods Dispatch Inspection:
Perform visual and documentation checks on finished goods before dispatch.
Ensure packaging, labelling, batch codes, and quantities meet requirements.
Complete dispatch checklists and release approvals as needed.
Control of Retained Samples:
Manage retention sample storage, labelling, and traceability.
Ensure samples are stored in appropriate conditions and accessible for audit or testing.
Quarantine Management:
Oversee and document quarantine stock.
Ensure materials or products under quarantine are correctly segregated and not released until approved.
Support investigations for non-conforming materials.
Quality System Support:
Promote awareness of the QMS throughout all departments.
Participate in internal audits, CAPA reviews, and improvement projects.
Provide support for document control and records management.
Training & Support:
Support training activities related to quality inspection, documentation, and GMP compliance.
Assist in onboarding new staff with regard to quality procedures and expectations.
Housekeeping:
Completing the housekeeping register on a weekly basis and report the findings to management
Other Duties:
Carry out general quality-related duties as assigned by the QA Manager.
Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to site improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Experience:
Previous experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance role in a regulated environment (e.g., pharmaceutical, chemical, medical device, or cleanroom operations) preferred.
Familiarity with inspection techniques, QMS, and GMP/GDP principles.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments.
