We are currently looking for someone to join our highly experienced Quality team right away to take on the role of Quality Engineer.

McBraida is a leading and innovative manufacturing company specialising in precision components for the aerospace industry. We take pride in our strong focus on innovation, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. We're pioneers in aerospace engineering. Across our two facilities we have a total of 70 CNC machines. The majority of these are milling and turning centres, but we also have excellent grinding and EDM (electrical dis-charge machining) capabilities to manufacture the more difficult and intricate features. We produce components for the leading manufacturers in the civil, commercial military and marine industries.

Due to continued commercial success, we have an exciting opportunity, for a hardworking individual, to join our Inspection team as a Quality Engineer. Main Duties and Responsibilities



As an integral part of this team, you'll have the opportunity to be involved in:

Auditing compliance to the Business Management System. Promoting and deploying Quality standards. Maintaining and developing customer and industry approvals (AS9100, NADCAP). Engaging with customers and employees to resolve concerns. Supporting customers and employees by embedding an improvement culture. Performing analysis to enable continuous improvement. Using and promoting preventative, risk-based management. Developing the skills base by transferring knowledge within the team. Using and maintaining top of the range measuring equipment. Using multiple Inspection methods to ensure quality and conformity. Investigating non-conformance to find root causes. Effectively work within a team environment, communicating with fellow team members and members of other production teams. Working in line with internal processes. Reading and interpreting technical drawings and associated specifications. Preparing and verifying First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs to AS9102) to verify conformity of product against customer requirements. Developing and maintaining inspection plans with support from the inspection department. Delegated Product Release Verification (DPRV) and customer eyes overcheck of finished parts. This list highlights key aspects of the role but is not exhaustive. You will need to be prepared to undertake other reasonable duties as and when required.

Personal Attributes



We're looking for the following things for our new team member:

Strong understanding of quality assurance and compliance. Knowledge and experience of AS9100 or ISO9001 quality systems advantageous. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Proven experience of quality tools and techniques. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and customers. Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. Ability and willingness to share knowledge and develop the skills of others. Must have an understanding of basic precision machining measuring equipment and metrology. Show a 'can-do' attitude. Ability to manage varied workload and prioritise tasks. Experience working in a precision machining engineering environment would be advantageous.

Working Patterns



Standard working days will be 8.30am-4.30pm however we allow our team to arrange their workload to finish early on Fridays.
