Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, technically strong Quality Control & Metrology Engineer to take ownership of high-precision inspection activities and drive quality assurance strategies. This role focuses on metrology -- operating FARO arm with Polyworks software systems with CMM (QCT Quantum 4 with QCT software) if possible (or other transferable CMMs) -- and utilising PMI data to generate datum reporting strategies.
The successful candidate will combine a deep technical understanding of manufacturing processes with a flexible, proactive approach and exceptional communication skills at all organisational levels, from shop floor operators to senior management.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and program FARO arms for precision inspection and validation of components.
Support the operation/programming of CMM systems (QCT Quantum 4) as required at another site.
Develop and execute datum reporting strategies using PMI data and GD&T principles.
Analyse inspection results and generate comprehensive reports with actionable insights.
Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering teams to address nonconformances and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Assist in developing and maintaining inspection standards, control plans, and calibration schedules.
Provide input into design-for-manufacture and design-for-assembly considerations to improve product quality and efficiency as required.
Contribute to continual improvement initiatives by analysing trends and recommending process optimisations.
Requirements
Essential Technical Skills:
Proven experience in a quality, metrology, or inspection role within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with FARO arm use/ programming with Polyworks software and CMM operation/programming (QCT Quantum 4 preferred with QCT software).
Strong understanding of GD&T, datum structures, and PMI-based data reporting.
Broad knowledge of various manufacturing techniques and their inspection requirements.
