THE ROLE



We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Engineer to join our team, contributing to complex, demanding, and safety-critical projects across the defence, aerospace, nuclear, subsea and automotive industries. This role plays a key part in maintaining and enhancing the quality assurance systems that underpin our commitment to excellence and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:



Review requirements related to new Customers and ensure that they are embedded and understood by the organisation. Prepare quality documentation, inspection reports, and support product lifecycle quality activities from development through to production. Support and maintain quality management systems (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, or ISO 19443 standards. Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) using tools such as 8D, FMEA, and Six Sigma. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and engineering processes. Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Interface with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues.

Required Experience & Skills:



Proven experience as a Quality Engineer within at least one of the following sectors: defence, aerospace, nuclear, automotive, or sub-sea. Strong understanding of quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Experienced in the use of quality tools and techniques (e.g., SPC, PPAP, APQP, MSA, 8D, DMAIC) an advantage. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Familiarity with high-integrity manufacturing environments and risk management.

Qualifications:



HND/Degree in Engineering or equivalent in a related technical discipline. Certified Lead Auditor (ISO 9001 or sector-specific equivalent) is highly desirable. Security clearance or ability to obtain it may be required, depending on the project.
