Who we are looking for

You'll need experience in metrology and quality control, as well as a solid working knowledge of ISO 9001 system certification and auditing. It's important that you're familiar with materials particularly metals and understand national standards, alongside having experience with foundries, forges, and fabrication shops. Experience using CMM and NDT is an advantage, though it isn't essential, and if you have knowledge of Lean 6 Sigma or APQP, that would be useful too.

You should be time-served in mechanical engineering, with hands-on experience in medium to heavy manufacturing, producing to stringent tolerances using modern CNC equipment. Strong computer skills and the ability to manage data quickly and accurately are essential. You'll also need to be confident hosting customers and external representatives during product verification visits and audits. Willingness and ability to travel within the UK and overseas is important, and you'll regularly interact with customers at a senior level.

You'll need a minimum of an HNC in mechanical engineering (or equivalent), and an Internal Quality Auditor (IQA) qualification or professional membership would be a real bonus. You must also hold a full UK driving licence.

If you are passionate about quality, continuous improvement, and want to make a difference in an ambitious manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you!

Working hours are 37 per week, however the successful candidates must have a flexible approach to working hours.
